Friends in Ontario Launch Sustainable Bath and Body Shop to Combat Human Trafficking

Timea Nagy, a survivor, best-selling author, and advocate, had a vision to create bath and body products focused on well-being. In 2017, she invited friends Michelle and Ashley to help her develop recipes for these items. This collaboration was born out of a shared commitment to alleviating anxiety through natural products.
Timea's journey began in 2011 when she worked as a mobile crisis victim care support worker for her organization, Walk With Me Canada Victim Services. During this time, she received calls from law enforcement to provide emotional support to victims of human trafficking. It was also during this period that Timea met Ashley and Michelle, both of whom were facing difficult times. Their shared experiences fostered a strong connection among them.

Years later, Timea invited Michelle to join her on workshop tours, where they began presenting and educating frontline workers and service providers about human trafficking across Canada. Inspired by their discussions, Timea shared her idea for Timea’s Market—a bath-and-body shop that would create organic products.

Excited by this vision, Michelle and Ashley joined Timea in her kitchen to test recipes. Their hard work and collaboration bore fruit, as just eight months later, Timea’s Market opened its first retail store in Cambridge, Ontario.

While Timea and Michelle often share their stories publicly, Ashley prefers to operate behind the scenes. She supports production and manages booths at various conferences across Ontario.

Together, this trio remains dedicated to creating high-quality products and actively participating in events, including conferences and Christmas markets. Their aim is to raise awareness about human trafficking and support those affected by it.
